King James
King James School, Knaresorough
An innovative solution utilising a ladder frame bridging structure with a 34m clear span over existing classrooms at King James's School, has provided the school with a contemporary Art block extension without the loss of any of the school grounds.
The extension comprises six new classrooms, a large multi-purpose space, art department office, staff room and Year 7 registration facilities.
Exposed ceilings with cellular beams and full height glazing has ensured that the classrooms are spacious light and airy, providing a better standard of accommodation for pupils and the ability to do large art projects.
